Welcome to the new front page of my silly little website. This, the front page, will be known, for now, and for lack of a more imaginative name, as The Front Page. Or, as they say in French, the beautiful language of lovers, Le Front Page.
It will feature, as you can see already, seriously cutting-edge web design. It will also feature continued access to what i've decided to call the Legacy sections of the site, which are, if we're a little bit honest with ourselves for just a moment here, abandoned earlier versions of this silly little site, which i've simply moved to their own private corners and left to collect cobwebs exactly as you remember them... only with cobwebs.
The most important feature of The Front Page Left-Hand-Side Menu is the addition of my Periodic Ramblings. I know what you're thinking: "Why doesn't he just say blog instead of Periodic Ramblings?" This is because my Periodic Ramblings will differ from a blog in three Key Respects, namely:
  1. They will be posted in simple, straightforward text, without employing a fancy blog-making client, automatically generating permanent links and such-like;
  2. They will not be called a blog, which is an insufferable little word that i'm quite tired of hearing and seeing, and since i think we can agree that blogs have an annoying habit of calling themselves blogs, a collection of words that doesn't call itself a blog is a lot less likely to be a blog than one that does, and there's no way you can beat that logic; and
  3. Which must've been a pretty important one, or else i would've only said there were two Key Repsects, not three, which i did say, so we can presume that the fact that i've forgotten what Key Respect #3 is, is not an indication that it is any less key, as respects go.
So. Periodic Ramblings it is. And i make a promise to you, my deserving and loyal reader(s) - and, much more importantly, to myself - to actually knuckle down and make absolutely no less than a half-assed effort to post said Ramblings with some sort of regularity, and even though said posting may prove to be wildly irregular, as perceived by the objective observer, henceforth known as The Enemy, i've decided not to be too hard on myself about it, i'm just one guy after all, i mean come on people really.
